Anyone who has received a visit from a therapy dog knows the healing power they offer. Therapy dog visits often come at a time when people feel the most vulnerable. People undergoing physical, mental, and occupational therapy often enjoy the positive distraction brought by the presence of a therapy dog.
Nursing home and inbound residents benifit from visits from or a resident therapy dog in their facility. Given the proven medical and mental benifits of spending time with a pet, it is no wonder these amazing animals bring so much joy to residents.
Outside of these traditional uses of therapy dogs, more therapy dogs are being used in non-traditional situations such as court rooms, funeral homes, and airports to help soothe and distract nervous travelers. The uses can be limitless. Wherever people need their day brightened, therapy dogs have a place.
Therapy dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and ages and are most often personal pets before they embark on a life as a working dog. 3K9 Working Dogs will provide an evaluation to help determine if your dog has the potential to become a therapy dog.
We provide training that enables eligible canines to become therapy dogs in hospitals, nursing homes, private facilities, counseling offices, and more. These special dogs bring comfort and joy to patients often by just being present and available.
